How to read this page
A figure stays here only when we could open a public page and read the number on it. Forecasts are labeled as forecasts. One company reporting its own revenue is not the size of the market. Do not add these lines into a single total.
Public cloud and SaaS spending
Gartner publishes a forecast of what end users spend on public cloud services. Cloud application services are the line it labels as SaaS. The amounts below are that forecast, not a later audited total.
Gartner forecast worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services at $723.4 billion in 2025, up from $595.7 billion in 2024, and said the market would achieve 21.5% growth in 2025.

What two large vendors reported
These are reported results for two companies whose products appear in our CRM and work categories. Microsoft Cloud, as Microsoft defines it, includes application subscriptions and infrastructure services such as Azure. It is wider than SaaS. Salesforce subscription and support revenue is the part of its business that is closest to a SaaS subscription.
Microsoft reported Microsoft Cloud revenue of $168.9 billion in fiscal year 2025, $137.7 billion in fiscal year 2024, and $111.6 billion in fiscal year 2023. Microsoft defines that total as Microsoft 365 Commercial cloud, Azure and other cloud services, the commercial portion of LinkedIn, and Dynamics 365.

Salesforce reported total revenue of $41,525 million for the fiscal year ended 31 January 2026, of which subscription and support was $39,388 million, or 95% of revenue.

What these figures do not say
They do not say which chat, CRM, or work tool fits a hospitality crew, a shop, or a desk team. A market forecast and a vendor income statement answer a different question from a company profile. Use the comparisons and the quiz for that.
